First, how the *hell* has it taken UK govt this long to get to coming up with this? Brexit nerds have been contemplating this for ages 2/8

Thing is any UK-EU Court will have to have UK and other EU country judges in it. What court has that already..? Well, the ECJ! 3/8

Plus the main objection to the ECJ was initially not the ECJ itself, but that it had - *SCARY* - foreign judges adjudicating over the UK 4/8

So what’s actually, substantially, the difference here? Other than it lets May save face? The devil is going to be in the detail. UK 5/8

is surely going to have to foot a large share of the bill for any such court - probably more than its share of ECJ costs. 6/8

Lastly, the EFTA Court largely shadows the decisions of the ECJ anyway. So it’s independent more in name than reality. 7/8

What a win, eh? Won’t free UK from foreign judges as Conservatives wanted, will follow the ECJ anyway, and will cost more. FTW! 8/8
