    A reminder that the Withdrawal Agreement & PD don't preclude a range of future relationships including EEA, BUT (and it's a huge but), the red line of ending free movement w/o carving up UK point to a deeper CU + toppings. And the WHOLE of British Politics backs the red line.

    The fact the referendum did not ask "Do you want to end free movement?" seems forgotten. TMay is both a cause & consequence of where British politics has reached. In that sense, she is weirdly "a truly national leader"....

    And so the trajectory of Britain's future is to creep back to a position of de facto EU m'ship but without the m'ship card for council and parliament votes. And of course with a Free Movement exemption (which, like TMay's immigration policy, probably won't work anyway.)

    And when you think about it, that means TMay is NOT a cakeist.
    She has ruthlessly made the choice that ending FM beats everything....
    Customs Union - "Whatever";
    Regulatory alignment - "Ok"
    Proper trade deals - Yawn
    Fish - Shrug
    Sovereignty! - Zzz Zzz....
