The L16 is a camera with sixteen camera phone sensors that's meant to give DSLR level images from a smallish squareish box.

There are headlines calling the L16 "the future of photography" which is… misleading. It's a potential future, sure, but _the_ future? t3.com/news/light-l16

Stuff published a "hands on review" that is really more of a preview- it doesn't even mention getting photos off the L16. stuff.tv/light/l16/revi…

It turns out that having a file with ten different images that need to be stitched together makes processing L16 photos a bit involved. In fact, that's by far the biggest drawback to it at the moment. It's almost fraud not to cover that.

At least the L16's promise - DSLR quality, less bulk - is worthwhile, unlike Lytro's, which was "you can refocus your (tiny) photo later!" Shockingly, nobody wanted that.

There have also been some meaningful and critical US reviews (which is perhaps why I'm so annoyed at the UK coverage). imaging-resource.com/PRODS/light-l1… is harsh but largely fair.
