Next semester I’ve resolved to only teach chamber music by female composers. What are your favorites I can look into? I’ve ordered Florence Price’s Five Folksongs in Counterpoint and Caroline Shaw’s Valencia so far.
You didn't mention the instrumentation, but if it's for any ensemble, one of my favourites is: Madeleine Dring: Trio for flute, oboe, piano. The second movement is one of my favourite movements of any chamber music work. She wrote various other chamber music pieces as well.
@KarenALonsdale We have the ability to shift players quite a bit, as the program has students on all sorts of instruments. I’ve mostly worked with string quartets but am open to anything if it’s at a level where my students can be successful!
