"Brit Pop was presented as just such a [new] thing despite being a coked-up combination of Indie and nostalgia"
I'm reading "KLF: Chaos Magic Music Money" by @johnhiggs at the moment. It's excellent. And very quotable.
Having just read the Steve Jobs biography and this back to back it's thrown into relief why I disliked Walter Isaacson's book so much (cont)
The Jobs book never really tried to explore, let alone understand, explain or justify why he was a dick. It just seemed to accept it (cont)
This KLF book understands tries to grapple with much bigger and less tangible themes ... and actually does a very credible job (cont)
In short Walter Isaacson's book was thorough but unimaginative. It was complete but cowardly. (cont)
