Social media is at the absolute core of the of the Game of Thrones experience.

The whole point is that we’re all watching the same thing at the same time.

  2. 6% of people in the US watch Game of Thrones. That's all.

That's all it takes to allow social media to make it seem like "everybody" does something.

Now imagine what social media does to folks with extreme points of view.

  4. Do you think demographics are important? Nielsen says NCIS got 11 million, but I haven't seen anything on social media.

  5. That’s not the right number. 38 million watchers on hbo for the season 8 premiere and now add all the unauthorized streams and downloads. It’s easily 15 to 20%

You'll have to prove the unauthorized download figure via a credible source.

And even if you are 100% right, it's 12% of the population.

This doesn't mean you are wrong. It means you need to back up your hypothesis with data, and the data may well be out there to prove your hypothesis.

  7. Perhaps that 6% spends massive amount of time on social media; making them seem as ‘everyone’

  9. Just in regards to how 6% of the population feels like everyone on Twitter if your feed is only TV obsessed GOT fans.

Social media breeds insulated beliefs and extremists, etc.

  11. Perhaps that 6% constitute much of the 10% that disproportionately create 80% of all tweets?

    Totally buy your point though.
